revolt against Henry IV but are defeated. |

Katherine of Valois, daughter of Charles VI of France and future wife of Henry V and
mother of Henry VI, is born at the Hotel de St Pol in Paris. |

Battle of Homildon Hill, Northumberland. English defeat the Scottish |

Sir Henry Percy, nicknamed "Hotspur", and his father, the Earl of
Northumberland, raise rebellion against Henry IV. The Percys had been
supporters of Henry's bid for the throne against Richard II. Henry
intercepted Hotspur outside Shrewsbury and in the ensuing battle Hotspur was
killed. This rebellion was the most serious threat to Henry's throne. |
