Charles VIII of France is crowned. During the first three years of his
reign, his sister and her husband, Pierre de Bourbon, ruled France. |

Martin Luther is born. Through his writings and actions he would
precipitate the Reformation movement that would undermine the Catholic Church. |

The Duke of Buckingham, a staunch supporter of Richard III, raises a rebellion in the name of
Henry Tudor. The rebellion is quickly put down by the king and Buckingham is executed.

Charles VIII agrees to assist Henry Tudor in his grasp for the English throne.

Henry Tudor invades England and meets Richard III and the royal army at the
Battle of Bosworth. Richard is killed and Tudor is declared King Henry
